Our Vision at MTC is to provide an inspirational environment where students can explore technologies and are empowered to achieve their personal best through creativity and innovation.

About Us

Specialist technology learning is the sole focus of the Marlborough Technology Centre, which was built in 2000.

Year 7 and 8 students from 15 schools across the Marlborough region attend technology classes at the extremely well resourced centre. Students are learning across the Technology Strands of the New Zealand Curriculum within a range of areas including Food, Materials, Design and Visual Communication, Biotechnology, Digital and Multimedia.

Feedback from students

"Learning about digital technologies and learning how to design and visually communicate with others were most important for me because I am interested in engineering as a possible future career and both of those skill sets seem useful. I think being up to date with technology will put me ahead of the curve and communication is always important in any job."

"Problem solving in unknown situations is useful because it teaches us how to have resilience and do things for ourselves."

"Using specialist equipment I don't have access to elsewhere gives me the opportunity to learn how to use them. Experiencing new subjects / skills gives me more of an idea of what I could do for a job when I am older."
